Austin City Ranch

11 miles from downtown Austin there is a wildlife refuge in the hill country where the trees are abundant and Slaughter creek runs silently through the middle of the land.
Nestled in the southwest corner of 143 acres is Austin City Ranch Bed & Breakfast, a charming rustic garage apartment with a separate entrance from the main ranch house.
On the way in, you’ll drive by the small oak grove where many bonfires are burned and folks enjoy sitting around the campfire, grilling and roasting marshmallows for s’mores. Across from the grove is an impressive heritage oak tree. Its big arms swing out with gnarly branch fingers that support lovely wooden swings. As you come up the circle drive for parking there’s a welcoming entrance with a bench and picnic table for your pleasure. You’ll appreciate the custom potting bench in the breezeway that doubles as a breakfast buffet for hot coffee in the mornings, and wine in the evenings.

The apartment sleeps four, sports a rustic, western décor with accent walls and carriage doors made from reclaimed wood. It is a comfy classy loft apartment, full of local Austin artistry.

Whether you’re enjoying the sunset on our bluff, or sitting in the breezeway with cup of coffee on a cool morning, being at ACR is relaxing and peaceful. There are plenty of hiking & biking trails on the property for a morning or afternoon activity. Whatever your plans during your stay, you’ll enjoy our ranch in the hill country where on any given day you may see deer, turkeys, hawks, owls, rabbits, foxes or raccoons, and of course all kinds of wildflowers.

Come see us soon! We look forward to serving you at ACR, your ranch in the city.

*Apartment is equipped with a roll out bed for a fifth guest.

This place is an amazing relaxing quiet retreat from all the hustle and bustle but yet still in Austin! The ranch is so beautiful down to all the adorable little touches Bobbie has done to the place. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back! Bobbie has thought of everything to make your stay feel like home. The happy hour in the afternoon is such a lovely idea to have your wine and watch the sunset or enjoy in your room. She even provides chocolates, cookies and fresh fruit with your wine. The breakfast she puts together is better than any 5 star hotel I’ve ever stayed at! I guarantee if you visit this ranch you will not be let down. You can see and feel the love they put into this place that will make you feel right at home.

ACR has been an oasis for me! A break from the noise, responsibilities and stress of everyday life!
If that’s what you’re looking for, look no further!

The Herzogs have true hearts of hospitality!
Each and every detail has been carefully chosen for a lovely, relaxing stay! The decor is beautiful and comforting. The food is five star worthy and even though you may want more, you won’t have a stitch of room left! There are so many trails and outdoor activities, you can stay as busy as you like.

Come alone or bring some friends for a fun weekend! Either way, you won’t be disappointed!

Relaxing weekend to recharge from the daily grind – Bobbie spoiled us with little extras from check-in to check-out. The property is especially beautiful, secluded, and quiet, but still near the activities of Austin, Wimberly and Dripping Springs. The room has an inviting, comfortable feel, with lots of decorative details. We were served a delicious breakfast, warm cookies for happy hour, and lots of wine during our stay. I cant say enough good things about our room and host. We are looking forward to going back again soon. – JH

We loved our time at ACR! From a welcome basket to sunsets and gourmet breakfast, our stay was magical.
Bobbie prepared a basket for us because she heard it was a special occasion, and welcomed us with wine and truffle chocolate on the first day. Then, on day 3 and 4 of our stay, she provided an incredible happy hour and breakfast for us. The food was amazing and she was so accommodating to dietary needs (I eat gluten free & dairy free).
The apartment was very clean and was as private as we wanted it to be. There is a private entrance that allows for fun conversation with the host when wanted or privacy when desired, and Bobbie voiced that she wanted us to have that choice too.
There was wonderful hiking and since the place is situated on private land, we were the only ones on the trail. Bobbie recommended one of the trails that led to an overlook of the city. We enjoyed a beautiful hike in the morning while the weather was cool (in August).
We would highly recommend ACR to anyone who is looking for a place to retreat, get away from the city but be close enough to get downtown within 15 minutes, or wants the “Texas” experience with an excellent host and a lovely place.

A huge thanks to Bobbie & L.D.! We loved our time with y’all!
